Ujian

Ada macam-macam ujian dalam hidup manusia
dari kecil hinggalah dewasa

Semasa bersekolah ada ujian yang wajib diduduki
Ada ujian kecil, ada ujian besar
belajar tinggi lagi, lagi besar ujiannya.

Masuk alam kerja
Eh, ujian lah tu....

Laa..., apa pasal panjang sangat pasal alam lerja ni?

masa tu
kena pandai cari kawan

Oh!!! ujian besar tu,
Ujian lagi!.
Bukan senang nak cari kawan masa ni
kalau kita orang biasa-biasa tak apa
kalau yang ada-ada tu
silap langkah tak berkawan
ujian lagi!.
silap haribulan tak ada kawan jenguk
masa mati.

Akhirnya di alam kubur
yang semua dah tahu
ada ujian menanti
soalan pun dah siap bocor.

Begitulah ujian
yang memang ada banyak lagi
masing-masing diri alami sendiri.

Dan sebesar-besar ujian
ialah ujian iman dan taqwa.
Itulah segalanya.

Sebelum kita akhirnya
bersendirian menjawab soalan
tanpa bantuan kawan mahupun lawan.

Osteoporosis

Aha! Ada artikel menarik tentang ni ( Ditampal dari Blog sahabat di Dubai http://www.1426.blogspot/ )Yang dah selalu rasa sakit lutut ( yours truly??) sakit belakang , sengal tulang dan macam-macam lagi tu.... learn something here.

Osteoporosis
The silent killer

Osteoporosis is a big problem, but because the gradual loss of bone density is such a slow and symptomless process many women are caught unaware - and then it’s too late

Rania has always been an energetic woman.

She works part-time at her family business, plays tennis twice a week and spent about 15 years of her life running after two hyperactive children.

She eats well, doesn’t smoke and only drinks alcohol on special occasions.

Yet when Rania was only 52 years old, she fell in the mall, fractured her hip and was out of action for almost a year. Her doctor then informed her she had osteoporosis.

Osteoporosis occurs when bones lose minerals, such as calcium, more quickly than the body can replace them, leading to a loss of bone thickness.

As a result, bones become thinner and less dense, so that even a minor bump or accident can cause serious fractures.

Any bone can be affected by osteoporosis, but the most common sites are bones in the hip, spine, wrist, ribs, pelvis and upper arm.

Osteoporosis usually has no signs or symptoms until a fracture happens - and this is why it is often referred to as the ‘silent disease’

October 20, is World Osteoprosis Day, when doctors and osteoporosis suffers around the globe hope to build awareness to the disease.

According to Doctor Shah Alam Khan, a paediatric orthopedic surgeon at Dubai Bone and Joint Centre, there are two main types of osteoporosis.

“One is age-induced osteoporosis, which happens naturally in people when they reach the age of 70 or 75. It happens in both males and females equally,” he says.

“The other type of osteoporosis mostly affects females that are post-menopause. This is the one that concerns us the most, because it is prevalent in females that are post-menopause, but it’s preventable.

”Dubai-based Mary-Jo, who has suffered from brittle bones for almost ten years, urges women to make sure their bones are healthy, as she says it’s absolutely no fun having osteoporosis.

“I love walking, but I gradually started to find standing for long periods extremely painful, so I don’t do it so much anymore.

I am pretty much car-bound and miss not having the freedom to use my legs in the same way I once did,” says Mary-Jo.

Doctor Khan can’t stress enough how important it is, especially for women, to curb the process of osteoporosis by exercising and ensuring an adequate intake of calcium, protein and vitamin D to strengthen bones.

“In a recent study undertaken at our clinic we found that there were about 150 patients coming in with body pain. And most of them we found out had a vitamin D deficiency, which was leading to osteoporosis,” says Doctor Khan.

“Vitamin D deficiency is common in Middle Eastern society because of the traditional dress. Veils obviously stop the sunlight getting through to the skin and this lack of vitamin D can contribute towards osteoporosis later in life.

“Numerous studies have shown that veiled populations are more prone to osteoporosis then non-veiled ones,” adds Doctor Khan.

Calcium is also very important in helping to build and maintain good bone density. One would think that within an affluent society like Dubai, with its abundance of food choices, people would be getting a good intake of calcium, but Doctor Khan warns that calcium deficiency is high here, because of the core foods we eat.

“Calcium is in the food we eat, but it doesn’t always get absorbed properly,” explains Doctor Khan.

“For example say you eat some food with calcium and then you drink tea - the calcium doesn’t get absorbed because the tea has tannins in it that inhibit the absorption of calcium.

“Even a glass of soft drink, like Pepsi, with food inhibits calcium absorption, so it’s important to make a special effort to take calcium on an empty stomach.

A glass of milk is a great source of calcium, but it should be drunk on its own for maximum benefit,” he adds.

Halaqah

Oh I love this programme. One of very few good progrmmes on tv. Yang lain-lain entah, banyak yang hampeh.

These past few weeks the topic discussed were good and very relevant. Yes, I sangat terkesan dengan cerita Panglima Islam Sallehuddin al Ayubi merawat Richard the Lion Heart yang cedera. ( termasuk juge yours truly, he,he,he....)

Banyak yang diperkatakan oleh penalist malam tadi. Oh Yes, it's good to see one of the very prominent speakers back on tv. I always admire this person kerana kehebatan oratory skill nya dan isi yang disampaikan.

Kelas Jumaat lalu, Pak Ustaz memberi tafsir ayat 107 hingga 110 Surah al-Baqarah. Oh, sungguh bagus sekali .

Al-jawab : Amanah

Apakah yang paling dekat di dunia ini?
Al-jawab : Mati .... kita tidak tahu, bila , bagaimana...

Oh...ada lagi soalannya..

Apakah yang paling ringan di dunia ini?
Al-jawab : Meninggalkan solat

Apakah yang paling tajam di dunia ini?
Al-jawab : Lidah manusia.

Marilah sama-sama kita fikirkan

Terima kasih di atas peringatan ini.

Alhamdulillah , it's Ain Sham, Cairo

Alhamdulillah, finally we got to know the university. Ain Sham University,Abbassia, Cairo. Lega. Eventhough the cost of living might be higher than the earlier chosen one, the facilities are a lot better. Malaysian House is nearby, Embassy is much nearer and Rumah Negeri pun kata Us S dekat je.

We got a call from Us. Bakar telling us the same happy news. Alhamdulilah.

Mmmm, we are yet to see A's collections of photos. Just hantar thru Maryam (bakal Doc) anak Us. Bakar the t/drive and other aksesori last Friday. Being a mother of cos u feel anxious to see and know e'thing.

I like Egypt personally and love to visit the place one day, insyaallah.

Tak lupa juga Alexandria , "the most beautiful place on earth ", kata Winston Churchill.

FRIENDS

To all good friends out there : Special dedication;

You've Got A Friend© James Taylor

When you're down and troubled
and you need a helping hand
and nothing, whoa nothing is going right.
Close your eyes and think of me
and soon I will be there
to brighten up even your darkest nights.

You just call out my name, and you know wherever I am
I'll come running, oh yeah baby
to see you again.
Winter, spring, summer, or fall,
all you have to do is call
and I'll be there, yeah, yeah, yeah.
You've got a friend.
If the sky above you
should turn dark
and full of clouds
and that old north wind should begin to blow
Keep your head together and call my name out loud
and soon I will be knocking upon your door.
You just call out my name and you know where ever I am
I'll come running to see you again.Winter, spring, summer or fall
all you got to do is call
and I'll be there, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Hey, ain't it good to know that you've got a friend?
People can be so cold.
They'll hurt you and desert you.
Well they'll take your soul if you let them.
Oh yeah, but don't you let them.

You just call out my name and you know wherever I am
I'll come running to see you again.
Oh babe, don't you know that,Winter spring summer or fall,
Hey now, all you've got to do is call.
Lord, I'll be there, yes I will.
You've got a friend.You've got a friend.
Ain't it good to know you've got a friend.
Ain't it good to know you've got a friend.
You've got a friend.

He ain't heavy, he's my brother

The road is long
That leads us to who knows where
Who knows where
But I'm strong
Strong enough to carry him
He ain't heavy, he's my brother

So on we go His welfare is of my concern
No burden is he to bear
We'll get there
For I know
He would not encumber me
He ain't heavy, he's my brother If I'm laden at all
I'm laden with sadness
That everyone's heart
Isn't filled with the gladness
Of love for one another
It's a long, long road
From which there is no return
While we're on the way to there
Why not share
And the load
Doesn't weigh me down at all

He ain't heavy he's my brother He's my brother
He ain't heavy, he's my brother

That's What Friends Are For

And if I should ever go away
Well, then close your eyes and try to feel
The way we do today
And then if you can remember

Keep smilin', keep shinin'
Knowin' you can always count on me, for sure
That's what friends are for
For good times and bad times
I'll be on your side forever more
That's what friends are for

Well, you came and opened me
And now there's so much more I see
And so by the way I thank you
Whoa, and then for the times when we're apart
Well, then close your eyes and know
These words are comin' from my heart
And then if you can remember,
oh
Keep smiling, keep shining
Knowing you can always count on me, for sure
That's what friends are for
In good times, in bad times
I'll be on your side forever more
Oh, that's what friends are for

Anda Pakai Kereta Apa?

Menarik dari Forbes :

What Your Car Says About You

Zack O'Malley Greenburg, Forbes

Porsches smack of success. Hondas preach practicality. And, according to a recent report, Chevys proudly proclaim of their owners, "I don't use the Internet."

Your car implies more about your life than you might think. While 13% of Chevy owners don't use the Web, by contrast, less than 3% of Honda owners remain in the technological Stone Age. The antithesis of flashy, Honda owners are usually pragmatic and well educated; 70% boast a college degree or higher, compared with 35% of Chevy owners and 45% of Ford owners.

The data was released in the spring as part of this year's New Vehicle Experience Study by San Diego-based market research outfit Strategic Vision.

"Honda buyers buy primarily for the trust and dependability they find in our vehicles," says Honda spokesman Chris Naughton. "Typically, highly functional vehicles deliver less image because customers didn't purchase for image."

Dan ada panjang lagi analisisnya......

Menarik juga analisis ni, Yang drive local cars like yours truly ni camana pulak?

Jangan marah ye kenkawan...

Antara hikmah membaca al Quran

Diambil dari blog sahabat pengikut Prof Nadiah : Mungkin dah pernah baca tapi tak pa refresh kan semula...

Why do we read Quran, even if we can't understand a single Arabic word?
This is a beautiful story, please read till the end and forward to all you know...

An old American Muslim lived on a farm in the mountains of eastern Kentucky with his young grandson. Every morning Grandpa was up early sitting at the kitchen table reading his Qur'an. His grandson wanted to be just like him and tried to imitate him in every way he could.

One day the grandson asked,"Grandpa! I try to read the Qur'an just like you but I don't understand it, and what I do understand I forget as soon as I close the book. What good does reading the Qur'an do?"

The Grandfather quietly turned from putting coal in the stove and replied,"Take this coal basket down to the river and bring me back a basket of water."

The boy did as he was told, but all the water leaked out before he got back to the house.
The grandfather laughed and said,"You'll have to move a little faster next time,"
He sent him back to the river with the basket to try again. This time the boy ran faster, but again the basket was empty before he returned home. Out of breath, he told his grandfather that it was impossible to carry water in a basket, and he went to get a bucket instead.

The old man said,"I don't want a bucket of water; I want a basket of water. You're just not trying hard enough," He went out to watch the boy trying again. At this point, the boy knew it was impossible, but he wanted to show his grandfather that even if he ran as fast as he could, the water would leak out before he got back to the house.

The boy again dipped the basket into river and ran hard, but when he reached his grandfather the basket was again empty.

Out of breath, he said,"See Grandpa, it's useless!"

"So you think it is useless?" The old man said,"Look at the basket."

The boy looked at the basket and for the first time realized that the basket was different. It had been transformed from a dirty old coal basket and was now clean, inside and out.

"Son, that's what happens when you read the Qur'an. You might not understand or remember everything, but when you read it, you will be changed, inside and outside. That is the work of Allah in our lives."

Moral of the story : Read Al-Quran frequently as it will purify our heart. When we have pure heart, it is easy to do righteous and leave jahiliyah and badness in ourselves.

Kelas

He,he,he.... sepatutnya giliran yours truly untuk membaca, tetapi ustaz kata kita mula dari orang yang pertama balik.

Subhanallah, Allahuakbar. : Peringatan bagi kita semua.

Merenung bekas kampung yang lenyap ditelan bumi, tanpa sisa. ....... Murka Allah !

BERNAMA

Speaking Test is coming

They had a MUET Speaking meeting recently in a new hotel somewhere in Ipoh. Mmmm... a friend rang up to ask why yours truly tak ada. The last season pun tak ada and for this coming October season pun tak ada, ngape ye? Someone is definitely missing me, he,he,he.

Well. it seems that once you decline the tugas ( for good reason of course ) you will be out for seterusnya. That's their line of thoughts. apa nak buat. I pun honestly not keen sebab after so many years doing it, memanglah membosankan.Nampaknya it's the second season that Nora is not around to handle the meeting. However, I tak terasalah sangat her absence (dalam meeting ) 'cos I pun absent. Others I think would feel such. Well, Nora, if you are reading this, I must tell you, we are missing you. I personally miss your visits and company as well as makan-makan laksa outing. Just wonder , how's life there.... lost ur email laaa.

The girls and the boys macam tak ready je... I gave them writing test today ( very difficult one) hmmm... berasap really kepala mereka and one class kata , 'dah lupa le macamana nak jawab " ... la ... apake henye?

Come next week, speaking, speaking, speaking..... all the best people.......
